Instagram has introduced a new Camera First app thread , Which aims to share content with Close friends . This app is another step of instagram against its rival app Snap Chat.
In a blog post on thursday, Facebook Owned instagram said that this app is a new and unique place for close friends.
In a user threads , he or she will be able to share messages , Photos ,Videos and storage data with a specific list of friends instead of sharing that content with everyone.
The app also offers status or auto status support, which lets friends know where you are right now . At home? , and the process will be automated which doesn't require any manual process.
Users will be able to share location , speed and battery life with their close friends , while text messages ,photos, and video messages are also available.
This app has been introduced when instagram announced the deletion of its messaging app directory in may which has been in operation in 2017.
The company said that beta testers did not want to go to another app from instagram to send the messages , but the company still showed interest in developing a new messaging app.
The company believes that a messaging app that is used only to connect with close friends will prove to be more popular, while also forcing its users to spend more time inside the app than snapchat.
Facebook and instagram have been trying to decrease the popularity of snapchat for many years and is another attempt to end the anti-thread app.
Like snapchat, threads will automatically send updates to the close friends list.
Snapchat is introduced snapmap feature this year which allow users to see their friends are and similar features are being provided in threads.
